Brigadier Saurabh Tewari (Retd.) is a distinguished Indian Army veteran with over 36 years of extensive experience in strategic leadership, defence communications, telecom and IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and cybercrime governance. He has played a pivotal role in planning, designing, and implementing mission-critical communication networks and large-scale national defence projects.


He last served as Advisor at Army Headquarters for the prestigious Project NFS (Network for Spectrum), a strategic national initiative involving the rollout of a dedicated next-generation telecom and IT network for the Defence Services, with an approximate outlay of ₹34,000 crore. Earlier, he was the Founding Director of Project NFS, where he led its conceptualization and execution during its formative years.


Over his distinguished military career, Brigadier Tewari has demonstrated exceptional expertise in field communications under operational and battlefield conditions, disaster response communication systems, and secure telecom network deployment. He has led large multidisciplinary teams of over 1,300 personnel, delivering complex projects under high-pressure and mission-critical environments.


His core competencies include strategic and perspective planning, telecom/IT network design and rollout, project and financial management, procurement, cybersecurity audits, cyber law, and cybercrime governance. He has also contributed significantly to administration, training, and human resource development within the armed forces.


Brigadier Tewari has been recognised for his outstanding service with commendations from senior military leadership, including the Army Commander (2008) and the Vice Chief of Army Staff (2015). He has also undergone specialised training at the United States Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, USA.


Academically, he is a Gold Medalist from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, where he completed his M.Tech with distinction. He also holds an M.Phil from Pune University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Symbiosis, Pune. He has further strengthened his expertise with certifications in Global Cyber Diplomacy from the United Nations and a Diploma in Cyber Law. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Cybercrime Governance.


In addition to his professional service, Brigadier Tewari is actively engaged in academia as a Visiting Faculty at IIT Delhi and is associated with leading professional bodies including IEEE, IETE, CSAI, and the Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS). He is also an author of notable works on modern warfare, including "Disruptive Technologies – A New Dimension of Warfare" and "Integrating Cyber and Electronic Warfare – The New Battlefield Race."
